Water refreshes and renews us so that we may continue through life with confidence and energy. Either through swimming, bathing, vacationing near an ocean or lake, or just floating on it in a boat, it energizes our spirits. In these paintings of water, I explore the aspects of water from the rushing, forceful, power of oceans and rivers to playful, rippling, flowing creeks to calm, serene, mirror-like beauty of lakes and ponds. Water, an intriguing substance, is necessary to all life and affects us in many ways. When water is plentiful and clean, we take it for granted. When it is not, we search desperately for it and we fight over it. Water can be destructive or rejuvenating. A fascinating subject to explore! |
